Among West Africa's most productive fishing waters, the world's cashew engine, phosphate in the ground and sun on tap, most of it still awaiting the capital to add value at home.

Membership of ECOWAS and the WAEMU monetary union, OHADA harmonised business law, EU Everything But Arms duty-free access, and the AfCFTA put a Bissau-based operation inside a continental market.

An externally anchored monetary system.

The CFA franc is pegged to the euro at a fixed rate and managed by the regional central bank (BCEAO) — currency stability that does not rise or fall with domestic politics.
